What a waste of space

To the Editor: On Sept. 24, the Smithsonian opened the National Museum of African-American History and Culture. It is another act of unwarranted patronizing towards one specific group of Americans. The Smithsonian has many museums. Are black people not included in them? Are there no exhibits of blacks in museums across the USA? Is there not a statue of Martin Luther King in Washington, D.C. The history of black Americans is well-documented. There is even, quite absurdly, foolishly every year, an entire month devoted to black history. Why?
