Accidental fall at O’Day Park inspires safety precautions, questions

On June 8, Mason Owens was playing in a water feature in a local park when the 5-year-old slipped and fell face first on the wet concrete blocks. His injuries required hospital treatment and stitches. It was later reported that Mason had fallen in the adventure playground section of O’Day Park in O’Fallon. After Mason was treated, his mother Stacy Owens said more needed to be done to prioritize safety and prevent similar accidents in the future.

O’Fallon to showcase O’Day, Civic Park projects on April 11

The public is invited to view designs for facilities in O'Fallon's new O’Day Park and for the expanded Alligator’s Creek Aquatic Center facility in Civic Park during an open house, Tuesday, April 11, 5-6:30 p.m. The open house will take place in the food court at O'Fallon City Hall, 100 North Main Street.
