As of July 1, Francis Howell School District has a new chief academic officer, Dr. Nathan Hoven. Hoven replaced Nicole Whitesell, who was hired as the director of the St. Charles County Center for Advanced Professional Studies [CAPS] program.

Francis Howell hosts Community Awareness Night April 11

According to the Francis Howell School District, 53 St. Charles County residents died of prescription opioid or heroin overdoses in 2015. Last year, the district said the St. Charles County Ambulance District responded to more than 400 overdose calls. District officials claim prescription opioid and heroin addictions claim younger and younger victims each year.

Bulletin Board – Immanuel Lutheran named National Blue Ribbon School

Immanuel Lutheran named National Blue Ribbon School U.S. Secretary of Education John B. King Jr. recently announced that Immanuel Lutheran School in St. Charles has been named a 2016 National Blue Ribbon School. Immanuel is one of just 11 schools in Missouri to have received the honor in 2016. Nationwide, 50 private and 279 public schools were selected for the award, which is based on a school’s overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.
