Despite tough state finish, Francis Howell softball has stellar season

The 2017 Class 4 softball tournament did not go the way the Francis Howell Vikings would have liked. Not even close to that. Still, for coach Jenn Beckmann-Brown’s 2017 club, the Vikings had a season that will be long remembered and cherished by the Francis Howell community. Foster, Hawkins vault Parkway North past St. Dominic in district opener

Cameron Foster made it happen for the Parkway North football team with his arm and Jason Hawkins did his thing in the receiving and return game. Foster threw for three touchdowns and Hawkins scored four touchdowns, three of them on pass receptions as the Vikings snapped a two-game losing streak with a convincing 47-11 win over St. Dominic in the Class 4, District 3 opener at Parkway North High School on Friday. Francis Howell prepares for state after Boschert’s big day in quarterfinal win over Howell North

In 2015, Francis Howell senior softball player Whitney Boschert was just a sophomore when the Vikings got bounced from the Class 4 quarterfinals by rival Francis Howell North. Last Saturday, Boschert led the charge to make sure the Vikings would get revenge for that playoff loss. Boschert went 5 for 5 with two home runs, knocked in five runs, and pitched the Vikings past the Knights for a 12-2 quarterfinal win at Howell North. On a day better suited for ducks and beavers to frolic outdoors, Liberty golfers Madeline Larouere and Zoee Harrington played like the elements were no big deal at all. Big fourth inning drives Holt to regular season finale win over Francis Howell Central

It took the Holt softball club a few innings to wake up the bats on Monday at Francis Howell Central. After not doing much at the plate for three innings, the Indians bats woke up and made some noise. Taylor Bell slapped a 2-run single to center field to break a 1-1 tie in the fourth, and the Indians erupted for five more runs en route to a 9-3 victory in the regular season finale for both teams. River City Rascals Promote Lisa Ferreira to General Manager Post

O’Fallon, Mo – The River City Rascals recently announced the promotion of Assistant General Manager Lisa Ferreira to the position of General Manager. Ferreira has served as Assistant GM since November of 2013 and recently completed her fourth season with the team. Powell’s scoring touch leads Ladue past Duchesne

Grant Powell has been the clear leader of the Ladue soccer team’s offense through 8 games so far. Powell showed that scoring touch once again on Tuesday as Duchesne had to deal with the smooth-shooting junior midfielder. Francis Howell North has been inconsistent with its hitting so far this softball season with ups and downs at the plate.
