On a day better suited for ducks and beavers to frolic outdoors, Liberty golfers Madeline Larouere and Zoee Harrington played like the elements were no big deal at all. A day after finishing 8th and 12th individually in the Class 2 Tournament in the first round, the Eagles super duo was even better on a chilly, rainy, and windy day at Sedalia Country Club. Big fourth inning drives Holt to regular season finale win over Francis Howell Central

It took the Holt softball club a few innings to wake up the bats on Monday at Francis Howell Central. After not doing much at the plate for three innings, the Indians bats woke up and made some noise. Taylor Bell slapped a 2-run single to center field to break a 1-1 tie in the fourth, and the Indians erupted for five more runs en route to a 9-3 victory in the regular season finale for both teams. Early hitting onslaught propels Francis Howell North over Lafayette

Francis Howell North has been inconsistent with its hitting so far this softball season with ups and downs at the plate. On Tuesday, the Knights bats rattled for nine runs in the first two innings, and then erupted for eight runs in the third, racing to a 17-2 mercy rule victory over Lafayette on Tuesday at Francis Howell North. Juniors help Holt roll past Zumwalt South

On a day when the Holt softball team was without senior captain and third baseman Madison Kettler due to an injury, the Indians junior class stepped up and helped out against Fort Zumwalt South. Francis Howell pulls away late for season opening win at Francis Howell Central

  They had to wait an extra three days to get the season started but in the end it was all worth it. Francis Howell’s softball team had its first two games canceled earlier this week, but on Thursday, the Vikings got to hit the diamond for real. Suffice to say, they had some fun. Howell scored a run in the fifth inning, a run in the sixth inning, and then exploded for six runs in the seventh inning. Francis Howell softball looks to go further in playoffs

There is a burning desire of wanting more surrounding the Francis Howell softball team as the Vikings prepare for the 2017 season. Howell finished 18-9 in 2016, but their postseason was halted in the sectional round by eventual state champion Troy Buchanan. Roberts returning to St. Dominic as athletic director

Only two years after he left, Kevin Roberts is returning home to St. Dominic High School. Roberts has been hired as the new athletic director at the school replacing longtime AD Jim Welby. Welby, the school’s athletic director the past five years, was recently named the school’s president and assumed those duties after outgoing school president Catherine Fetter retired on June 30. A 2001 De Smet alum, Roberts, who also coached the Crusaders boys basketball team to a 15-12 mark during the 2014-15 season. Ambrose selected to represent Team USA in World Games in Austria This summer will be an exciting and busy time for youth basketball player Katie Ambrose. She was recently selected to play on the U-14 Team USA squad at the World Games in Klagenfurt, Austria on June 23. Ambrose, a 13-year old point guard, is a St. Charles County resident and attends Bryan Middle in the Francis Howell District. “I am excited and honored to be selected to participate in the World Games,” Ambrose said. “This will be my first trip out of the country and I’m excited for the opportunity.” ...
