Ambrose selected to represent Team USA in World Games in Austria This summer will be an exciting and busy time for youth basketball player Katie Ambrose. She was recently selected to play on the U-14 Team USA squad at the World Games in Klagenfurt, Austria on June 23. Ambrose, a 13-year old point guard, is a St. Charles County resident and attends Bryan Middle in the Francis Howell District. “I am excited and honored to be selected to participate in the World Games,” Ambrose said. “This will be my first trip out of the country and I’m excited for the opportunity.” ...

Bennick’s field goal propels Zumwalt North past Battle for Class 5 championship berth

  Fort Zumwalt North senior kicker Matt Bennick has had a couple of dreams about kicking a game-winning field goal to help his team get to a state championship game but never expected it to happen. There was only one thing Holt’s Cole Mueller had on his mind when the Holt Indians took on GAC Central foe Fort Zumwalt East on Oct. 7. Although the 2016 prep football season is just into week three, there is one St. Charles County team that clearly has captured the attention of many in the Bi-State region.   Hassan Haskins once again ran wild and Chris Stewart was wicked in the passing game as the Eureka Wildcats rolled into Francis Howell Friday night and succeeded in ruining the Vikings home opener. The Wildcats raced to a 33-22 victory over Howell in the first meeting since the two teams met in 1977.
