Westminster Christian Academy moves up kickoff for Saturday’s game

Westminster Christian Academy’s football team will try to beat the heat and Festus by moving up the kickoff of its season opener at home. Fort Zumwalt West reached the Class 6 quarterfinals in Neil Nowack’s first season with the Jaguars. For his second season, Nowack has seven starters returning on offense and seven on defense. It’s almost time to play football again, but the new season brings changes. Gone are the old Suburban West and Suburban South conferences. The new configurations are based on school enrollments, location and sports offered. Parkway Central reached the Class 5 state championship game for the second time last fall.   Lindenwood University product Pierre Desir has been working diligently in training camp the past two weeks with the Cleveland Browns. The fourth round pick from Francis Howell Central had his first action just over a week ago in the Browns intersquad scrimmage in Akron, Ohio.   In just three weeks, the inaugural season of play will kickoff in earnest for the Missouri Baptist football Spartans and head coach Jason Burianek. The historic inaugural game for Missouri Baptist will involve a road trip down I-55 to Cape Girardeau to take on Ohio Valley Conference member, Southeast Missouri State at Houck Stadium. Gabbert adjusting to new role with the San Francisco 49ers

Parkway West graduate Blaine Gabbert has had plenty of time to familiarize himself with the San Francisco 49ers’ playbook. Lindenwood football to appear on CBS Sports Network this fall

The Lindenwood football Lions will get a prime-time chance to showcase their skills to the entire nation when the Lions play in a nationally televised game during the 2014 season. That televised game, which will appear on CBS Sports Network, highlights the Lions 2014 home schedule. Lindenwood will play host to Missouri Western on Sept. 25 at Harlen C. Hunter Stadium. Rams National 7-on-7 team has 18 local football players ready to compete

The St. Louis Rams National 7-on-7 Team finished second last year and this year the squad of 18 local high school football players will attempt to win it all. Team will be coached by St. Louis Rams manager of fan development Kyle Eversgerd and Rams Training Academy Coach Matt Biermann.
