Incarnate Word senior named to U.S. Youth Olympic Basketball team

Incarnate Word Academy senior Napheesa Collier will be going to China next month. Collier, who committed to the University of Connecticut earlier this spring, has been named to the 2014 U.S. Youth Olympic Women’s Basketball Team. The team will take part in the 3×3 basketball competition in the second annual Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China. The games, featuring 15 sports, will run from Aug. 16-28.   Email this page

Chaminade’s Tatum invited to USA men’s U17 tryouts

  In just over a week, Chaminade’s Jayson Tatum will be out west looking to make another select basketball team roster. Tatum, a junior at Chaminade, has been invited to the USA basketball u17  training camp which will open on July 24 in Colorado Springs, Co. Tatum is one of a group of 36 players that is trying out for the squad. The team,which will be culled down to 12 members, will compete in the FIBA World Championships, in Dubai, United Emirates during August 8-16. Barton transferring to Missouri as a walk-on

Former De Smet Jesuit standout point guard and three-time captain Jimmy Barton is coming back to Missouri to continue his college basketball career. It was announced on Tuesday (July 1) that Barton will join the University of Missouri basketball Tigers as a walk-on. In 2012-13 as a senior at De Smet Jesuit, he averaged 14 points, 6 assists, and 3 rebounds per game.
