Elementary student raises money to help peers

Auditions for Disney’s ‘Newsies’ Nov. 4

The Young People’s Theatre is holding open auditions for Disney’s “Newsies” at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, in the Daniel J. Conoyer Social Sciences Building auditorium at St. Charles Community College, 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in Cottleville. Callbacks are at 4 p.m. that same day.

Nearly $70,000 in scholarships awarded to local students

The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust Board is funding a record amount of college scholarships in 2018. This year, 70 students from the cooperative’s four-county service area are receiving scholarships totaling $69,750. More than 140 applications were submitted.
