Mexico Road resurfacing project Phase 2 approved

Phase 2 of the Mexico Road resurfacing and sidewalk project has been approved. On April 11, the O’Fallon City Council approved an agreement with Spencer Contracting Company, in an amount not to exceed $1,191,456.59, to continue the street improvements. Federal transportation funds will reimburse the city for 80% of that cost. The work covers the stretch of Mexico Road from Barrington Drive [Copperfield Subdivision] west to Hwy. K and includes the installation of push buttons, signals and pedestrian crossings at the Mexico Road-Hwy K intersection. O’Fallon I-70 Traffic Flow Improvements Project update

The project’s overall objective is to improve traffic flow to, from and along Interstate 70 from T.R. Hughes Boulevard west to the Woodlawn Avenue overpass and includes the Hwy. K/Main Street interchange. It will be funded by federal transportation dollars, the Missouri Department of Transportation [MoDOT], the St. Charles County Road Board and the city of O’Fallon.

Spire STL Pipeline LLC and Michels Pipeline Construction will close Portage Road approximately 1.49 miles east of Rees Road beginning Monday, April 15 and ending Tuesday, April 16 to allow for a pipeline installation.
