Missouri team ready to begin play in the USGA State Team Championship

The three-man Missouri team will begin competition Tuesday (Sept. 30) in the USGA’s Men’s State Team Championship. For the third consecutive time, and seventh time in the 11 playings of the championship, all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico have entered a team. The average age of the competitors is 35.7 years. New York won the event in 2012. MICDS heads into district play playing some of its best golf

The undefeated MICDS Rams are on a roll heading into Tuesday’s (Sept. 30) Class 1 District 1 tournament. The Rams are 9-0 in dual and triangular matches and 2-0 in tournament play. MICDS won the Angel Classic and is coming off winning the River to River Challenge last week. Forest Hills Country Club is the site of the district, which is being hosted by Villa Duchesne. It’s time for high school girls tennis team and invidual singles and doubles districts to begin.    Here are the seedings for Class 2 District 3 hosted by St. Joseph’s Academy: 1. St. Joseph’s Academy. 2. Visitation Academy. 3. Webster Groves. 4. Nerinx Hall. 5. Ladue. 6. Gateway. Play begins Monday (Sept. 29) when Nerinx Hall plays Ladue and Webster Groves meets Gateway. Each match begins at 3:30 p.m. The Ladue-Nerinx Hall winner plays St. Joseph’s while the Webster-Gateway winner meets Visitation. Both matches are at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. High school girls district golf tournaments set to begin

It’s time for area high school girls golf teams to start district competition. The Class 2, District 2 teams will tee it up first when the teams begin playing at 8 a.m. Monday (Sept. 29) at Fox Run Golf Club. Northwest is the host. Teams competing are Eureka, Lafayette, Marquette, Northwest, Parkway South, Parkway West, Summit, Rolla, Visitation Academy and Westmisnter Christian Academy. Chaminade ranked No. 10 in the nation in high school boys soccer

The Chaminade Red Devils soccer team is nationally ranked. Chaminade is 8-0-1 and are ranked at No. 10 in the nation by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America in their recent poll. After opening the season with 3-0 victories over Metro Catholic Conference rivals St. Louis University High and CBC, the Red Devils are fresh off a trip to Milwaukee. Chaminade scored a 2-1 victory over Marquette High School and a 2-0 victory over St. Viator. Last week, Chaminade tied De Smet 1-1 and defeated Vianney 3-1. Westminster Christian Academy, MICDS ready for River to River Challenge in girls golf

Westminster Christian Academy is the defending River to River Challenge champion and the Wildcats girls golf team will attempt to win it again when the annual Missouri versus. Illinois tournament is held Saturday (Sept. 20). Missouri won the event last year. Missouri’s teams in the unique tournament qualified from the recent Angel Classic that was win by MICDS. Also playing will be Marquette, St. Joseph’s Academy, John Burroughs and Kirkwood. The action begins at 2 p.m. at The Orchards in Belleville, Ill. Parkway North heads into homecoming game with momentum from last-second victory

Fresh off an exciting victory last week, the Parkway North Vikings have an extra day this week to prepare for its homecoming game. The Kirkwood Pioneers will visit the Vikings in a 1 p.m. Suburban XX South Division game Saturday (Sept. 20). Parkway North is 1-0 in division play.
