St. Charles County Election official expects heavy voter turnout, absentee voting in November

Even through the general election is still more than six weeks away, St. Charles County’s lead election official expects a heavy voter turnout, possibly approaching a record. “We are getting very, very high participation,” said Rich Chrismer, the county’s election authority director.  Chrismer said Sept. 19 that he is expecting 83 percent to 87 percent turnout with more than 284,000 registered voters on the Nov. 8 general election. County asked to delay CUP request; Dardenne Prairie talks annexation

Residents of the Canvas Cove subdivision in Dardenne Prairie asked the St. Charles County Council on Sept. 12 for time to further research if a controversial rehabilitation facility will mean more traffic, devalue their homes or add to flooding issues. The council is being asked to grant a conditional use permit that would allow a proposed 38-bed rehabilitation facility on an unincorporated 5.68-acre tract along Hwy. N at Monet Drive.
