Progress 64 West honors names Louis S. Sachs Scholarship winners

The winners of this year’s Louis S. Sachs Scholarship awards presented by Progress 64 West had two vastly different business plans: one was for an already full-fledged operation, the other, an idea for a business. The reward for the young entrepreneurs was a combined $7,500 in college tuition assistance.

Journalism students from Francis Howell North High and Barnwell Middle traveled to the Fall National High School Journalism Convention in Washington, D.C. Nov. 21-24. The students attended learning sessions, participated in competitions and brought home a few awards.

Students give thanks for families

Families and friends alike attended the “Thankful for Families” event at John Weldon Elementary. [FHSD photo] John Weldon Elementary hosted a Thanksgiving luncheon called “Thankful for Families” to bring the school community together.
