St. Charles County Executive Steve Ehlmann has appointed Kurt L. Frisz as chief of police for St. Charles County, subject to confirmation by the County Council at its regular Monday, Feb. 10 meeting.

The St. Charles County Council voted Jan. 27 to rename the county’s airport to reflect the continued growth and economic development in the region. Formerly known as St. Charles County - Smartt Field Airport, the new name is now St. Charles County Regional Airport - Smartt Field.

The public is invited to offer comments about St. Charles County Emergency Communications as the department goes through the process of becoming accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. [CALEA].

Some of the benefits will include beautification, improved lighting and ease of maintenance.

Actions at the Jan. 23 O’Fallon City Council meeting resulted in the withdrawal of a rezoning request for 8100 Phoenix Parkway and the building of a Senior Community district.
