County Kratom decision tabled again

The St. Charles County Council on June 10 once again tabled a decision on whether or not to add Kratom and related substances to an existing ordinance banning the sale or use of illegal smoking products containing synthetic cannabinoids. The board tabled the issue until its June 24 meeting.

County offers advice, aid to help ‘block the bite’ of mosquitoes


Mosquitoes are both a nuisance and a health concern, as their bites may spread diseases to people and pets. A team effort between residents and the Division of Environmental Health and Protection helps “block the bite” and reduces the risk of exposure to disease-carrying mosquitoes in St. Charles County.

County opts out of tax holiday

The County Council approved a measure May 28 by a vote of 4-3 that would allow the county to opt out of the annual Back To School Sales Tax Holiday Aug. 7-9.
