A lasting devotion to fresh ingredients, food, family

Keeping it fresh while maintaining a commitment to tradition has made Spiro’s St. Charles a culinary landmark. It’s also a commitment owner Tim Karagiannis, whose family originated the local Greek restaurant in 1975, takes seriously.

The recipes have been consistent since Tim’s father, Harry, first established the restaurant. 

The reason for that consistency? Popular demand.

“People want to come back here after 10 years, order the same dish they tasted 10 years ago and know that flavor is going to be the same,” Tim said. 

The Chesterfield location at 1054 N. Woods Mill Road, opened in 1981 and the St. Charles location at 2275 Bluestone Drive, opened in 2004. Both are known for their delectable beef and lamb recipes, all topped off with table side service. A consistent favorite is Chicken Parmesan, boasting sautéed chicken breast and heart pasta topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella. Their bar and dessert menu help make every meal complete.

The dedication to delicious dishes and superior service keeps customers coming back. Even when the 2020 shutdowns hit, Tim said local families continued to support them calling in orders for curbside and pickup, and leaving large gratuities for their staff members. 

“Our customers are the best!” Tim declared.

To reassure customer health and safety, Tim installed new air purification systems at both restaurant locations to reduce airborne pathogens.
