“The CiNINAbun is heavenly. We’re definitely picking this as our new breakfast place.”
That comment, overheard at Nina’s Breakfast & Brunch on a mid-June morning, is not surprising. The food is simply that good.
Many of owner Teri Downey’s signature creations – like the CiNINAbun, which customers say is “the best cinnamon ‘roll’ in town” – are built around her hand-crafted biscuit dough and family recipes.
“The biscuit dough took me months to perfect,” Teri confides. But now it shines in the CiNINAbun, her Biscuit & Gravy and her signature Breakfast Pizzas that also feature a creamy, custard-like egg layer. The Piggy is loaded with bacon, pork sausage, ham, mozzarella and parmesan cheese. The Pig in the Garden has everything in the Piggy plus mushrooms, onion and sweet peppers. The Garden is all veg, no pig. All are delish and large enough to share.
“Everything is made from scratch, to order,” Teri said of a menu loaded with customer favorites.
“It’s been hard,” she said of operating a small business in a global pandemic. “But our customers have been wonderful, especially with utilizing our curbside pick-up. They call ahead, drive up and we place it right in their car.”
Still, Teri’s anxious to see her restaurant filled to the brim again.
“I’m a Nina,” she explained. “That’s what my grandkids call me – and what do ninas’ do? They feed you!”
So she’s hoping you’ll accept the invitation to “Meet at Nina’s” and discover your new favorite place.
