At their May 27 meeting, the St. Peters Board of Aldermen voted 7-0 to approve Bill No. 21-49, authorizing renovations for the Rec-Plex North facility for a cost of $673,379. Alderman Judy Bateman (Ward 2) was absent from the meeting and vote.
At the same meeting, the board also voted 7-0 to approve Bill No. 21-48, authorizing renovations of the Cultural Arts Centre, specifically its activity room, for the cost of $149,894.
Parks & Recreation Services Group Manager Dan Emrick and Communications Coordinator David Fults explained that the Rec-Plex North renovation will include modernizing the food court, including adding two party rooms and a game room; modernizing the lobby and redesigning front desk/registration area; and replacing several door systems.
Official renderings of the changes are not yet available.
The target completion date for the renovations is Oct. 1, 2021.
The St. Peters Rec-Plex is located at 5200 Mexico Road.
For the Cultural Arts Centre, Emrick and Fults clarified said its renovations will include modernizing the three activity rooms and hallway with new paint, carpet, lighting, window treatments, and signage.
Official renderings of the changes are not yet available. The target completion for the renovations is mid-August 2021.
