Fort Zumwalt East High sophomore Abbie Chartrand has been selected as the winner of U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer’s annual art competition. Chartrand’s work “Baptism” was done in colored pencil for her AP Studio class. The piece was selected from 14 entries from across the Missouri 3rd Congressional District and will hang in the U.S. Capitol.

This isn’t Chartrand’s first time representing Fort Zumwalt with her artwork. When she was in seventh grade, Chartrand’s piece was the Missouri state entry for her age group in the annual Doodle for Google national competition.

Chartrand’s piece can be viewed in the East High segment this district’s annual art show, which is virtual this year. To view the virtual Fort Zumwalt 2021 Art Show, visit sites.google.com/fz.k12.mo.us/fortzumwaltartshow/home.
