The Missouri Botanical Garden’s Green Living Festival returns as a virtual experience

The Missouri Botanical Garden’s annual Green Living Festival is celebrating its 20th year with a virtual festival. This event teaches visitors more about sustainable lifestyles. Join experts, virtually, for three days of learning, exploring, and engaging in ideas for sustainable lifestyles.

The 20th annual Green Living Festival will be held at noon June 2, 3, and 4 online. The event will explore distinct curated online content covering energy and efficiency, naturescaping, and personal and planet wellness.

Hosted by EarthWays Center, the festival will let online visitors explore the links between sustainability and a healthy environment. Our experts will offer tips to make your lifestyle, workplace, community, and residence greener.

Each day the Festival will begin at noon with live online panel discussions. Local experts will cover topics like creating an energy-efficient and healthy home, tree maintenance and benefits, and outdoor spaces that are inclusive for all. A roster of workshops will cover useful topics from local experts such as air sealing your attic for energy savings, tree care, and all-levels yoga practice led by non-profit Yoga Buzz.

The festival exhibitors help individuals and families live green and support sustainable lifestyle choices. Via virtual booths, product and service exhibitors will give guidance about green building, smart energy efficiency choices, rainscaping with native plants, backyard chicken keeping, taking public transit, and many other sustainable habits.

New for 2021: A Live Exhibit Hall will allow visitors to chat one-on-one with exhibitors from 10:30 a.m. to noon on June 4. Attendees who visit each virtual booth can register to win prizes donated by our exhibitors and receive two passes to Origami After Hours, while supplies last.

The event is family friendly. The virtual Green Living Festival is suitable for all ages and provides online activities such as storytime with Garden staff, testing your tree ID skills, and “Write Outside Your Door” essays and poems activity.

On June 2 attendees can take a deeper dive into energy efficiency through additional live events. At 2 p.m., learn how to go solar during a “Grow Solar St. Louis Power Hour.” At 6 p.m., “EV 101: A Brief Introduction to Electric Vehicles” will introduce benefits to driving electric.

The virtual Green Living Festival is free to attend but advance registration is required. Learn more and register today at www.mobot.org/greenlivingfest.
