To the Editor:
Slavery has existed in this world since before recorded history but fortunately no civilized country today practices it. Let’s not judge the past by today’s standards.
Should the Congressional committee decide in favor of reparations over this country’s history of slavery it would be but one more step in the direction they’ve been going over the recent several decades.
Kudos to your columnist Star Parker for writing common sense over reparations. But don’t be surprised to see reparations come about. Remember, it’s the same government that officially ended slavery in this country for votes and not for humane reasons.
