Jim Lynch, of Adventure Accessories in Chesterfield, has proposed opening Adventure Shooting Sports at 2505 Hwy. K within the Four Seasons shopping center. The storefront currently houses the soon-to-be-closed Evergreen Spa/Massage.
The storefront has Title Partners next door to the east, a Martial Arts Studio next door to the west, and Show Me’s restaurant two doors to the east.
The business would sell firearms and accessories. The owners are not proposing to pawn guns.
Business hours would be 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturdays. The applicant has proposed security shutters on the glass, as well as alarms and security cameras.
The Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) has placed a condition on its recommendation of approval: A police department review of security and possible requirements from that review.
To establish and operate this business, the applicant has applied for a conditional use permit (CUP). Approval of the CUP has been proposed in Bill No. 7306, sponsored by Ward 4 council members Jeff Kuehn and Dr. Jim Ottomeyer.
The bill was given a public hearing and first reading at the April 8 City Council meeting. If normal process and timing are followed, the bill will receive a second reading and vote for passage at the April 22 meeting.
