Cottleville is conducting a food drive

The 11th Annual Bi-City Holiday Food Drive will end on Jan. 11.

“This is the eleventh year Cottleville and Weldon Spring have participated in a friendly competition,” Cottleville City administrator Rich Francis explained. “Cottleville took the win in 2020 and currently holds the trophy.”

Francis clarified that the cities are looking for non-perishable food items and toiletries such as cereal, dry pasta, sauce, canned goods, baby diapers, toothpaste, shampoo, cleaning items, etc.

Items can be dropped off at Cottleville City Hall, 5490 Fifth St., off Route N.

Francis said all of the items collected by Cottleville will go to Sts. Joachim & Ann Care Service, which is the largest social services provider for individuals, families, and children in the Tri-County area of St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren counties.

Cottleville also is collecting items for Five Acres Animal Shelter. This is the only “no-kill” shelter in St. Charles County and relies on private donations in order to operate. Needed items include dog treats, dog toys, kitty litter, bleach, paper towels, un-shredded newspapers and trash bags. New and gently-used towels, blankets, sheets, beds, collars and leashes also are needed.

This information about the food drive and more can be found at, including a sign-up for the city’s newsletter.
