Weldon Spring is conducting a food drive

Weldon Spring is again supporting Sts. Joachim & Ann Care Service this winter season by collecting donations from the community.

Community relations coordinator Mitchell Jordan explained, “The pantry distributes food products, personal hygiene, household cleaning supplies, and even back-to-school supplies.”

He said that Weldon Spring and Cottleville will again face-off to collect the most food. The city also will be collecting for Five Acres Animal Shelter, a no-kill shelter in St. Charles County. The animal shelter needs pet food, toys, and gently-used pet items.

For individuals wishing to make donations, City Hall, 5401 Independence Road, will be accepting items through Jan. 8. City Hall will be open from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

“A donation bin will be placed outside on the front porch of city hall for contact-free delivery. Financial contributions can be made as well,” Jordan said. “The city looks forward to this friendly competition while collecting items for this cause to help other community members.”
