The Greater St. Louis Area Council (GSLAC), Boy Scouts of America, will hold a membership drive on Nov. 7 with 21-activity-based stations spanning the region. Each of the activity stations will start at 10 a.m. and last to noon. A local drive will take place at 4525 Central School Road in St. Charles.
This will be part of many efforts that GSLAC is offering to bring awareness to parents and families across the region looking for safe programs and activities for their youth, these programs are available to young people ages 5-20.
“We are very excited to bring exciting, fun and social-distanced opportunities to the new families within the communities that we serve,” said Scout Executive Ron Green, CEO of the Greater St. Louis Area Council, Boy Scouts of America. “We believe that Scouts has something for everyone in the family to be a part of and encourage everyone to come find out what our council has to offer.”
At these membership rallies, each district will showcase a unique activity that shows what being a Scout is like. Activities include fishing, crafts, target practice with slingshots and BB guns, Pinewood Derby racing and more.
“Providing these programs and activities are invaluable in these times, when sports and so many activities have been cancelled,” said Green. “These activities help encourage important growth and development.”
