Dogwood Social House, LLC had applied for a conditional use permit for an indoor commercial recreation facility and a liquor store at 2601 Hwy. K, the former Gold’s Gym building, which has been shuttered since April. The property already was zoned as C-2/General Business District.
The Planning & Zoning Commission (P&Z) had recommended approval with nine specific conditions, including a solid barrier between the proposed patio and the elementary school to the south.
At the Oct. 22 City Council meeting, Bill No. 7245 to allow the permit was passed by a vote of 10-0.
Recreation facilities will include ax-throwing, billiards, arcade games, shuffleboard, yard games, a karaoke room, bowling, a bar, and an outdoor patio.
Recreation operational hours will be 11 a.m.-midnight, Wednesday and Thursday; 11 a.m.-1:30 a.m., Friday and Saturday; and 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Sunday.
Liquor store hours were not specified in the P&Z report. However, per Dogwood’s company website, their already-open Ellisville location has the following hours of 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday; 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m., Friday-Saturday; and 11 a.m.- 5:30 p.m., Sunday Those hours would comply with O’Fallon ordinances for sale of packaged liquor.
