Money Magazine has named the city of St. Peters to its 2020 list of the Best Places to Live in America, ranking St. Peters at No. 13 overall. St. Peters was the highest-ranked city in Missouri.
This is the fifth time St. Peters has been ranked on this prestigious list and the highest it has ever reached on the list.
In 2017, St. Peters was ranked No. 15 in the nation. It also made the magazine’s Best Places to Live in 2008, 2010 and 2012.
“To receive this honor in such a challenging year reminds me what community is about. It’s about neighbors working together, and it’s about caring for each other,” Mayor Len Pagano said. “We were chosen because of our great quality of life and the more than 8,000 new jobs in our community over the last few years both at the Premier 370 area and other new businesses, including retail. With the support of the people who live here, the businesses and entrepreneurs who stay and grow here and those who continue to serve their community every day including our great first responders, healthcare and all our essential workers, we are a great place to live, work, play and raise a family.”
Money said in its story on St. Peters: “It’s not hard to find community in St. Peters: Local musicians perform in a free sunset concert series on summer Fridays (streamed on-demand this year due to the coronavirus). Each month the city organizes a day trip for residents. … The Rec-Plex, fondly referred to as the town’s ‘crown jewel,’ is a delightful, city-run recreation center.”
At the Rec-Plex, families can enjoy Olympic-sized swimming pools, an NHL-sized ice rink, and 8,000 square feet of fitness equipment.
