At its Sept. 24 meeting, after a public hearing with no speakers, the St. Peters Board of Aldermen unanimously approved Bill No. 20-100 to set the city’s 2020 property tax rates.
The total rate will be $0.77 per $100 assessed valuation. That rate is the same as years 2007-2019. The 2020 rate includes $0.5626 for the City General Fund and $0.2074 for the Debt Service Fund.
Missouri statutes require the city to levy its property tax prior to Oct. 1 each year. Prior to approving the levy, the city is required to hold a public hearing with notice posted seven days in advance. Property tax rates also are subject to certification by the Missouri State Auditor’s office.
