The city of O’Fallon will host a public hearing to discuss a proposed decrease in sewer rates. The open house-style hearing will be held between 4-6 p.m.on Wednesday, Sept. 30 in the O’Fallon Municipal Centre (City Hall) multipurpose room.
The proposed rate is 7.5% lower than the rate that was previously approved by the O’Fallon City Council. The proposed decrease in rates was made possible by cost-saving changes throughout the department and a lower than anticipated bid for construction of the upcoming waste-water treatment plant expansion.
City staff will be there to greet customers with information about the proposed changes and to answer questions from the public.
Customers are invited to attend this event or contact the public works department to get more information about the proposed changes. A summary of the public comments will be provided to the city council prior to the final reading of the ordinance.
Due to COVID-19, social distancing will be required throughout the hearing and masks are strongly encouraged for all participants.
