Since 1957, the Greater St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce has recognized local leaders for their dedication to serving the Greater St. Charles County community.
Now, it is seeking nominations for the 2020 Citizen of the Years and Lifetime Distinguished Service awards.
The Citizen of the Years award is designed to recognize the lifelong achievements of a citizen for actions, generosity and service, broad-based community involvement in a non-paid position, and leadership in organizations above and beyond the call of duty on behalf of the community. The Lifetime Distinguished Service
Award candidates and recipients are nominated by members of the Greater St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce and the community at large.
Voting is by a committee made up of past recipients and past presidents of the Greater St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce. Past recipients of the Citizen of the Years award include Chuck Gross, Thomas Stephenson, Mike Sommer, Dr. Bernard Dubray, Gary Shaw, Grace Nichols, Ben Blanton, Dr. J. Michael Conoyer, Melvin Wetter, Henry Elmendorf, Keith Hazelwood, Lisa Baue and Jerry Scheidegger.
To submit a nomination to the Greater St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce, send up to two typewritten pages per nomination why you believe the nominee is deserving of the award. Letters of support are also encouraged.
Nomination forms can be found on the Greater St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce website at www.GSTCCC.com or by calling the Chamber office at (636) 946-0633. All nominations and letters of support must be received to the chamber office by noon on Thursday, Oct. 22.
