O’Fallon proposes Old Route N extension

Map provided by City of O’Fallon

As part of an inter-governmental agreement with Lake Saint Louis to establish the South Ridge Shoppes on Old Route N, O’Fallon Ward 3 council members Dale Kling and Nathan Bibb sponsored Bill No. 7200 for its first reading at the June 25 meeting.

Old Route N currently dead-ends in a field. The bill would authorize city staff to assist with the acquisition of land, rights-of-way and easements to extend Old Route N to the southwest, link it to Sommers Road and open up the area for better traffic flow. Funding will be covered by Lake Saint Louis and the developer, South Ridge Shoppes LLC.

If normal process and timing are used, the second reading and vote for final passage would be at the July 9 council meeting.

Mid Rivers Newsmagazine published detailed stories about this on Aug. 22, 2018 and April 11, 2019.
