New O’Fallon City Council members take oath of office

At a special city council meeting at 6 p.m. on June 25, two newly elected members of the O’Fallon City Council took their oaths of office.

Running unopposed for the Ward 2 seat, Lisa Thompson received 98.7% of votes, with the remainder going to write-ins. Running against an incumbent and one other candidate for the Ward 5 seat, Katie Gatewood won with 51.59% of the votes.

Also taking the oath of office were Dave Hinman, Ward 1 incumbent, who won with 46.02% of the vote over four other candidates; Nathan Bibb, Ward 3 incumbent, who ran unopposed; and Ward 4 incumbent Jeff Kuehn, who won with 72.68% of the vote over one other candidate.
