The Votes Are In: June 2 election results

The ongoing state of the COVID-19 pandemic did not deter many St. Charles County residents from participating in the June 2 municipal election [originally scheduled for April 7].

According to Kurt Bahr, director of elections for the St. Charles County Election Authority, the June 2 election turnout was 13% overall, of which about 1% was by absentee. The April 2019 municipal election had a 9.72% turnout.

“We did see an increased number of ballots requested for this election as well as a higher election day turnout compared to last year,” Bahr said in an email interview. “Moving the election to a time when shelter-in-place orders were being lifted helped with election day turnout.”

Some incumbents returned to their seats while other municipalities will see new faces in the future. The following is a list of unofficial election results. Write-in candidates and uncontested races are not included. Incumbents are noted with an *.
