The show will go on: St. Peters takes Sunset Fridays to the airwaves

Sunset Fridays has long been a staple of summer entertainment for St. Charles County residents.

Armed with lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets, hundreds of music lovers fill 370 Lakeside Park all summer long to enjoy the music of local bands. But last summer, floodwaters forced the city to take its popular concert series on the road. This year, there’s no flood, but with COVID-19 still posing a threat to public health, the city has chosen to reinvent its concert series one more time.

Beginning May 15 and continuing through Friday, July 17, the city and St. Peters TeleVision is bringing Sunset Fridays “On the Road” to back yards and living rooms across the region.

“I know what it means to people,” Trent said about being able to continue Sunset Fridays. “I know what it means for me … to be able to share this means everything to me.”

The concert will stream live at SPTVnow.net and air on Charter Spectrum Channel 992 or AT&T U-Verse Channel 99. It was was recorded at the Cultural Arts Centre’s Performing Arts Theatre without an audience.
