County Police warn of COVID-19 related scams

St. Charles County residents have reported that phone scammers are impersonating county and municipal officials and asking for personal information, including social security numbers, related to COVID testing.

The St. Charles County Police Department put out a message on Facebook advising residents that no county or municipal officials or volunteers will ask for social security numbers or financial information.

The department warned residents: Do not give that information to anyone calling regarding COVID-19.

Residents who have questions about the legitimacy of any call should get the caller’s name and number and call the St. Charles County Public Health Hotline at (636) 949-1899 or the St. Charles County Police Department at (636) 949-3000.

Residents with specific concerns related to COVID-19, should visit the county’s COVID-19 information site for official information from the Department of Public Health or email healthservices@sccmo.org.
