Payne Family Home breaks ground on St. Jude Home

The groundbreaking ceremony for the 2020 St. Jude Dream Home in O’Fallon.

On the morning of Thursday, Jan. 30, a large crowd of patrons broke ground on the 11th St. Jude Dream Home to be built in the St. Louis area.

The home will be located at the Legends Pointe subdivision in O’Fallon just off Hwy. N between Hawk Ridge Trail and Sommers Road. The community features abundant common ground, a walking trail around a small lake, a park with playground, and a community garden.

Companies in attendance included Payne Family Homes, FOX2 News, Epsilon Sigma Alpha, 95.5 the Lou, Prestige Pool & Spas and Paramount Bank, as well as national sponsors such as Brizo, Shaw Floors, Trane and Bosch.

“Bosch Home Appliances and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital share a strong commitment to improving lives and we’re very passionate about this partnership,” said Mark Walker, district sales manager at Bosch. “With our ‘Invented for Life’ cornerstone, Bosch is committed to enhancing lives through the high quality, performance and innovation of our appliances and we are delighted to support St. Jude in their quest to find cures and save lives.”

This is the seventh year Payne Family Homes has serves as the Dream Home’s builder.

One lucky person will be chosen to win the Dream Home. Raffles tickets, costing $100 each,  will go on sale in June.

“Every $100 ticket helps ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all they should worry about is helping their child live,” reads the Dream Home website.

“St. Jude is helping the world understand, treat and defeat childhood cancer and other life-threading diseases,” added Allison Newton, marketing director of ALSAC/St. Jude. “Every dollar raised will directly benefit the children of St. Jude.”

In total, the St. Jude Dream Home has raised over $400 million and has given away more than 425 homes nationally since its inception.
