During ward reports at the City Council meeting Dec. 12, Council member Rose Mack [Ward 2] announced that she will not file for her council seat in the municipal election April 7, 2020.
In April, Mack will complete her 10th year as an advocate for Ward 2.
She encouraged everyone residing in Ward 2 to give serious thought to running for her council seat because she said it is important to actively participate in the governance of the city. Mack added that “home values and quality of life depend on many factors, including important decisions made by this council.”
She asked Ward 2 residents “to get involved and bring your ideas and knowledge to this council.”
Filing for the April 7 election opened at city hall on Dec. 17 and closes at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21. The filing fee is $25.
Other council members thanked Mack for her 10 years of excellent service and said there would be more celebration and thanks as the election nears.
