At the Dec. 4 Board of Aldermen Meeting, a 2020 expenditure budget of $4,977,042, including Capital Improvement Projects [CIP], was approved by the board.
Bill No. 19-46, sponsored by Mayor David Zucker, had been given a first reading at the Nov. 6 Board of Aldermen Meeting. At the next meeting on Nov. 20, budget revisions were discussed and agreed upon, with the resulting draft detailed budget then was posted in the Dardenne Prairie website to allow time for additional board review and resident review.
At the Dec. 4 Board of Aldermen meeting, a second reading was conducted and Bill No. 19-46 was approved by a vote of 5-0, with Alderman John Gotway [Ward 3] excused from the meeting and absent from the vote.
The budget includes $4,736,266 in total revenue, $3,723,232 in total expenses, plus CIP of $1,253,810, for grand total expenditures of $4,977,042. The deficit of $250,292 will be paid from reserves in the city’s General Fund and CIP Fund.
Additional details about the 2020 budget and anticipated reserves were included in a Mid Rivers Newsmagazine article published in the Dec. 4 issue.
