A bill [No. 7139] sponsored by O’Fallon Mayor Bill Hennessy would authorize an updated agreement with the St. Charles County Regional Drug Task Force [DTF], in conjunction with various other political subdivisions. At the Oct. 24 City Council meeting, the bill was given a first reading. If the typical process is followed, a second reading and vote for final passage will be at the Nov. 14 council meeting.
The council had previously passed Ordinance No. 6234 on June 23, 2016, regarding the DTF agreement. This new bill would update the agreement for certain amended wording, including:
“The O’Fallon Chief of Police is authorized to act on behalf of the City as a member of the DTF Board, and to perform such duties as a DTF Unit Board member, by on the behalf of the City of O’Fallon and at the direction of its City Council, and to perform such duties of a DTF Unit Board member as authorized pursuant to the St. Charles County Regional Drug Task Force Agreement.”
The agreement still would include wording that the city of O’Fallon agrees to be subject to and will follow the terms and conditions of the St. Charles County Regional DTF Agreement.
