A bill approved at the Oct. 16 Board of Aldermen meeting authorizes Mayor David Zucker to execute a new contract with Grace Hauling, Inc. for 2020 and subsequent years.
The contract has an initial term beginning Jan. 1, 2020, and expires Dec. 31, 2022. The city has the option to extend the contract after 2022, for up to 7 renewal terms of one year each.
The rate for trash and single-stream recycling service will be $14 per month and billed quarterly. There will be options for three different cart sizes. Additional optional services will be available at additional costs, such as yard waste pickup, large-item pickup, appliance pickup and extra containers.
Before Jan. 1, Grace Hauling will mail letters to all customers outlining its options, rates and schedules.
The city does not expect to have any expenditures or revenue resulting from this contract since Grace Hauling will bill and collect fees for the service from each resident.
