At the Oct. 10 O’Fallon City Council meeting, resident John Callahan addressed the council. He confirmed that Tuesday, Nov. 26 will be the 29th annual No Hunger Holiday, to provide the ingredients for a complete Thanksgiving dinner to over 3,600 families in the counties of St. Charles, Lincoln, Warren, Pike and St. Louis.
This is an all-volunteer effort with many St. Charles County charitable organizations involved. To that end, Callahan explained that volunteers are needed [age 12 or older] as are contributions of turkeys and cash. A gift of $35 can provide dinner for a family of four, he said.
Turkeys can be dropped off at the Wm. Pezold Knights of Columbus Hall, 5701 Hwy. N in Cottleville. Volunteers can stop by any time between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, to help assemble baskets. Cash donations can be made to No Hunger Holiday, c/o Doug Helfrich, 23 Springwood Drive, St. Peters, MO 63376.
