At its regular meeting on Sept. 26, the city council passed Bill No. 7127 regarding the funding for the city’s sewer lateral repair program. The bill, sponsored by O’Fallon Mayor Bill Hennessy, specifically repeals a previously passed ordinance in O’Fallon’s Municipal Code and reenacts an annual fee of $30 for 2020, instead of $29, to fund the O’Fallon Sewer Lateral Repair Program.
The bill also authorizes the collection of the fee with the city’s property taxes.
The cost of $30 is the maximum approved by the voters during the April 7, 2009, municipal election. Properties subject to the ordinance are those with lateral sewer service lines on, or connecting to, residential properties with six or less dwelling units.
