Smoothie King: Serving up good health, one delicious glass at a time

All of Smoothie King’s smoothies are free from artificial preservatives, flavors and colors, and are blended with real whole fruits and organic veggies.

When Cherry Villegas and her family tried a Smoothie King smoothie for the first time in 1999 it was love at first sip.

“We were hooked,” Villegas said. By 2008, she had purchased her first Smoothie King franchise in Cottleville and in 2014, opened a second one in O’Fallon. Her passion for fitness and living a healthy lifestyle merged beautifully with her franchise business.

At Smoothie King, Villegas’ employees set the bar high for quality, service and nutrition.

“Our friendly team always strives to make the smoothies functional for our customers by suggesting additional ingredients that will help them tackle their day. Whether they’ve just worked out, had a hectic day or are simply taking a break, we have a smoothie for them,” Villegas explained.

Villegas and customers agree that one of the best things about Smoothie King is the countless ways guests can customize their smoothies. Custom blends can be created by adding any fruit or enhancer to any smoothie on the menu, which makes the possibilities endless. Smoothie King’s menu has five categories of smoothies based on specific health goals: Fitness, Slim, Wellness, Take a Break and Kids.

Fitness Blends are created with protein-rich ingredients for those who need to get the body ready for a long workout or to refuel and recover afterward. Twenty-five different blends are available in the Fitness category, including Coffee High Protein Vanilla, which is the perfect balance of protein and coffee to help get the day started.

Slim Blends are all under 350 calories for every 20 oz. for anyone needing a boost with weight loss or achieving weight management goals. Smoothie King offers 20 Slim Blends with tempting flavors like Angel Food, with bananas, strawberries, vanilla, nonfat milk and Turbinado sugar – a cane-based sugar that is considered healthier because it’s less processed and minimally refined.

Smoothie King’s Keto Champ answers the need for a smoothie that fits into the keto diet or for those customers requiring low-carb and/or low sugar options. Available in berry and coffee flavors, the smoothies are healthy and delicious.

Wellness Blends contain vitamins essential to maintaining a healthy body. Sixteen blends are available, including Green Tea Tango and Immune Builder.

Take a Break Blends, with 15 different blends available, offer a fun treat or reward after a long week of staying on your diet or health plan.

Because kids bodies have different needs than adults, Smoothie King’s Kids Blends are suited in taste and nutrition specifically for the younger set. Blends such as Apple Kiwi Bunga and CW Jr. feature bananas, strawberries, papaya and can be enhanced with a multivitamin.

“In support of our mission to inspire people to live a healthy and active lifestyle, Smoothie King started blending two organic pumpkin smoothies as a limited time offer for the fall season,” Villegas said. “Pumpkin Coffee High Protein and Pumpkin D-Lite are great treats for guests looking for something to replace their fall pumpkin pie craving.”

With Smoothie King’s endless menu options, staying healthy and enjoying a treat can be one and the same.

“Our mission is to inspire people to live a healthy and active lifestyle,” Villegas said.
