Celebrate St. Peters is infamous for attracting a wide array of award-winning musical talent to its Main Stage and 2019 is no exception.
This year’s musical line-up features award-winning classic rock and country artists, hometown favorites and even rising stars making their national, big-stage debut, right in residents’ backyards.
FRIDAY, SEPT. 20
On the Main Stage
Music kicks off at 7 p.m. at the Main Stage with an opening performance by The Plastic Kings, featuring former members of Contagious. Plastic Kings is a high energy rock group that performs some of the greatest rock, pop and classic hits.
Then, singer Alyssa Lynn Little will take the Main Stage for her national, big-stage debut. Little is a contemporary country musician from upstate New York. Her song, “All Over,” is available on multiple music streaming services.
After Little’s opening performance, American country band Sawyer Brown will dish out a playlist of hits for audience members. The band has multiple chart-topping hits and numerous Top 20 hits since its formation in 1981. While the band started with playing country pop, they’ve since added more serious ballads to their repertoire, meaning there is something for everyone. Sawyer Brown has won an Academy of Country Music Award for best vocal group.
The Friday entertainment is presented by Mid Rivers Newsmagazine, 100.7 The Viper and KFAV-FM 99.9.
SATURDAY, SEPT. 21
On the Main Stage
Journey fans won’t want to miss Saturday night’s opening band. SFO, a tribute to Journey with a salute to Foreigner and Kansas, will hit the stage at 7 p.m. The band features six top-notch musicians with decades of touring experience from Nashville, Florida, Minnesota and more. Later that evening, a once-in-a-lifetime concert event for classic rock fans will hit the stage. In honor of the 50th anniversary of Head East and 45th anniversary of the release of the band’s top-selling album “Flat as a Pancake,” the original band members have agreed to reunite with the current touring band to perform the entire album for festivalgoers.
“For classic rock fans, this is a big deal,” Lisa Bedian, St. Peters director of communications, said.
The band’s Celebrate St. Peters performance will be the only big-stage performance of the album, with the original band members, in the St. Louis area this year. The concert is presented by KSHE 95.
On the Celebrate Stage
Due to 2019 flooding, the event’s Celebrate Stage has moved to the festival vendor area, where local artists will perform live acoustic music that festivalgoers can listen to while browsing the over 40 vendor tents or while relaxing on the lawn with friends and family. Pete Sigmund, who specializes in a blend of blues and classical ballads, will perform at noon. Artist Wade Trent will strum acoustic melodies at 2:30 p.m.
The Community News Family Area will move from the lawn to the Corporate Pavilion. Children’s entertainer Babaloo performs at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The Home Depot Kids’ Workshop will take place from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Concert start times: Main Stage concerts on both Friday and Saturday begin at 7 p.m.
Concert seating: Celebrate St. Peters guests are reminded and encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to sit on during live music performances.
