The St. Charles County Youth Orchestra, celebrating its 23rd season this year, will hold seating auditions on Aug. 10-11. Auditions can be scheduled on the SCCYO webpage [sccyo.org].
SCCYO provides the opportunity for over 140 area youths of all ages to perform quality orchestral music under the leadership of professional conductors. Today, the orchestra consists of three ensembles.
Primo Strings introduces ensemble performance for the youngest string students. Cadenza Orchestra explores more advanced instruction of musical elements, technique and ensemble performance. The Symphony Orchestra incorporates the full range of music literature for the advanced student.
The Orchestra’s season is September through the middle of May and includes three concerts per season. Orchestra rehearsals are held on Saturdays at the Lindenwood University Cultural Center.
