The third annual St. Louis High School Musical Theatre Awards winners were announced June 2 at the Fabulous Fox Theatre. The winners were named in 14 categories, plus the WOW! performance awards and special recognition awards.
Timberland High placed in the “Outstanding Musical” category for its production of “The Addams Family.”
Timerland High student Kyle Rehme was awarded the Outstanding Supporting Actor designation for his role as Uncle Fester in the production.
“I am honored to be recognized by St. Louis theater professionals for our production of ‘The Addams Family,’” Melissa Queen-Couch, the troupe’s sponsor, said. “With as hard as these students work on these productions, it’s fulfilling to see them earn these types of accolades.”
Timberland High also placed first in the “Outstanding Costume Design & Execution” category.
Special Recognition Awards and WOW! Performance Awards for outstanding production work were also presented. In “The Extra Mile” category, St. Dominic High School won for its production of “Les Misérables.”
The ceremony was hosted by KTVI Fox 2’s Mandy Murphey and directed by Tony Parise. The Outstanding Lead Actress and the Outstanding Lead Actor will go on to compete in the Jimmy Awards/National High School Musical Theatre Awards on June 24 at the Minskoff Theatre in New York City, presented by The Broadway League Foundation.
