Annual Mayors’ Charity Ball raises $40,000 for local organizations

On the evening of April 13 at the St. Charles Convention Center, mayors from nine cities across St. Charles County took to the dance floor for the annual St. Charles County Mayors’ Charity Ball at the St. Charles County Convention Center. The 2019 event’s theme was “Dancing with the Stars.”

Participants in the event included Dardenne Prairie mayor David Zucker, Cottleville mayor Jim Hennessey, St. Peters Mayor Len Pagano, Wentzville Mayor Nick Guccione, New Melle Mayor Rich West and O’Fallon Mayor Bill Hennessy. Administrative assistants that chaired the gala with the mayors were Julie Smith, St. Peters; Bess Bacher, O’Fallon; Michele Mooney, St. Charles City; Terri Voss, Dardenne Prairie.

David Zucker, Jim Hennessey, Len Pagano, Nick Guccione, Rich West, Bill Hennessy, AirEvac Lifeteam president Seth Meyers, and representatives of the four charities attended the 2019 Mayor’s Charity Ball.

Hennessey and his celebrity dance partner, Ally Nichols, took home the evening’s dance trophy. Nichols, who previously was featured in Mid Rivers Newsmagazine for her participation in Dancing with the St. Louis Stars, was designated as the evening’s Dancing MVP and Dance Champion.

In addition to being a successful evening for the dancers that took part, the event was also a successful fundraiser. The ball netted $40,000, from which $10,000 was donated to each of the event’s four charities: Unlimited Play, St. Charles Borromeo Minnie Vinnies, The Adam Morgan Foundation and Community Living St. Peters.

Funds were raised via ticket sales, donations, silent auction sales, sponsorships and votes for the best dancers.

This event next will be March 21, 2020, at the St. Charles Convention Center.
