The St. Charles Community College Foundation, SCC Student Activities and Cottleville-Weldon Spring Chamber of Commerce are working together to host the eighth annual Food Truck Frolic and Summer Movies at St. Charles Community College, 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in Cottleville.
Food trucks will be available from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on June 21, with a free movie following shortly after.
The event will be held in the college’s Red Parking Lot. The movie, “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” will be shown at dusk at the Campus Plaza. The band “Zero Friction” is also set to perform.
Free visitor parking is available at the North and South entrances.
“We hope you’ll bring your friends and family and have some fun while supporting your community and community college,” said Peggy Schnardthorst, SCC’s development and foundation relations manager.
Everyone is encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. Free popcorn will be available, and additional snacks and beverages can be purchased.
In the event of rain, the movie will be held in the College Center gymnasium. The gymnasium is accessible from the Southwest Entrance.
Food Truck Frolic and Summer Movies is sponsored by Barnes-Jewish St. Peters and Progress West hospitals. Dining sponsors include Mercy, Krey Distributing, and SugarFire Smokehouse. Community sponsors include Acropolis Investment Management, Beseda Flooring, Commerce Bank, First Community Credit Union, NHC, Renewal by Anderson, UPS and Vantage Credit Union.
Food Truck Frolic will continue on July 19 with music by Spanky Entertainment Dueling Pianos. The Summer Movies will continue with music by Kevin Babb and a showing of “Uglydolls” on Aug. 23 and a showing of “The Secret Life of Pets 2” on Sept. 20.
