Inaugural Bam Bam Fest seeks to help veterans

The Sgt. Bam Foundation will host its inaugural Bam Bam Fest from noon-10 p.m. on Saturday, May 18 at Mid Rivers Mall in St. Peters.

The festival and foundation, named in honor of Staff Sgt. Alex Bahmandeji, seeks to support veterans who are surviving PTSD. Bahmandeji passed away in December 2014. In the wake of his death, his mother, Maggie, formed the foundation. She said Bam Bam Fest is a family friendly event that will feature “live music, food trucks, raffles, karaoke, games, contests, prizes and more.”

Corporate and individual sponsors still are needed. Proceeds from the festival will be used to train and place service dogs with veterans.

“Companies and individuals interested in sponsoring the event or donating to the foundation, can call me at (314) 910-2151 or visit sgtbamfoundation.org to donate. The Sgt. Bam Foundation is a tax-exempt public charity. All contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law,” Maggie said.
