DECA students from the multiple high schools in the Francis Howell School District competed at the state level on March 24-26 in Kansas City. Over 1,800 high school students from across the state came together for the 2019 competition, which strives to help prepare students for futures marketing, management and merchandising while also teaching students to become more knowledgeable about the economy and acquiring practical career skills.
Multiple students took top places. From Francis Howell High, Kennadyn Momeno took first place in the Hospitality & Tourism-Professional Selling category.
From Francis Howell Central High, Gillian Eichel and Jenna Schwesig placed third in the Business Law & Ethics Team-Decision Making. From Francis Howell North High, Megan Crain and William Schellman placed third for the Marketing Team-Decision Making.
DECA is an international association of high school students studying marketing, management, and entrepreneurship in business, finance, hospitality, and marketing sales and service.
